We regret to advise of the death of Private Santiago Nicolas “Santi” Nadeau on 21 May 2023 from a tragic accident near Great Falls, Montana at the age of 21 years. Santo was a member of 33 Engineer Squadron of 41 Combat Engineer Regiment in Calgary AB.
Santi was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and emigrated to Calgary AB shortly before his fourth birthday. He attended the School of Alberta Ballet, where he received both dancing instruction and academic education. Santi was a member of Alberta Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” cast for many seasons.
Santi was a student at Robert Warren middle school and E.P. Scarlett high school from 2016 to 2020. He enrolled in the Canadian Army’s Reserve Force in 2019 achieved his Basic Military Qualification in July 2020 as a member of 41 Combat Engineer Regiment. Pursuing his dream of becoming a Cinema Director, Santi joined the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology’s Film and Video Production program.
Movies and Army were two important aspects of his life. The family will honor both by celebrating Santiago’s life during a Military Service held at Canyon Meadows Cinemas {13226 Macleod Trail SE Unit 110, Calgary, AB} on 3 June 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
Memorial donations to support Santiago’s family with the funeral costs may be e-transferred to the family at FRIENDSOFSANTI@OUTLOOK.COM or may be deposited into an RBC account. Surplus funds will be donated to the school attended by his sister Sarah, the Art-Centred Willow Park School.
