We regret to advise of the death of Sapper Orval Warren Rhude of Colborne ON at the age of 88 years on 9 March 2011 at Bluewater Health Hospital in Sarnia ON.
Orval was born in Timmins ON. He was a Royal Canadian Engineer veteran of the Second World War serving in the 1st Field Survey Company in Northwest Europe. After the war, he came to Sarnia and worked at Polysar (Polymer Corporation) from 1948 to 1983. He was a member of the Sarnia Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received on 14 March from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Smith Funeral Home in Sarnia followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. A private interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Instead of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Joseph's.
