We regret to advise of the death of Sergeant Allan Savage Morrison (Ret’d) peacefully at the Courville Geriatric Centre, Waterloo, QC on 15 November 2002 at the age of 85 years.
Allan was born in Montreal. Except for his time overseas with the Royal Canadian Engineers, Allan was a third-generation CPR employee at Windsor Station and at Park Avenue Station from 1939 until his retirement in 1977. After the war, he served in the Militia - from 1954 to 1957 with 6th Hussars and then six more years with the 3rd Field Engineer Regiment as SQMS. After retiring from the CPR, he worked as a security guard for Clairol until 1988. He was devoted to The Royal Canadian Legion and was a longtime member of Flanders Branch 63 in Montreal where he served as President for three years from 1942 to 1975. He was a deputy commander from 1974 to 1976 then commander for West District between 1976 and 1978. When he finally retired, he relocated to Waterloo, Ontario and served as president of the Shefford Branch 34 for two years He also served as Provincial Representative to Quebec Command in 1983.
Visitation will be at Desourdy Wilson Funeral Home, 318 Knowlton Road, Knowlton, QC on 18 November from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. Funeral and Royal Canadian Legion service will be held from the chapel in Knowlton, QC on 19 November at 2:00 PM. followed by interment at Grace Anglican Cemetery in Sutton, QC. Donations may be made to the Association Diabetes of Quebec, 5635 Sherbrooke E., Montreal, QC or the Alzheimer Society from Granby and Regions, 179 rue Principale, Granby, QC.
