Lt Ronald Stewart “Stu” Smith (Ret’d)

We regret to advise of the death of Lieutenant Ronald Stewart “Stu” Smith (Ret’d) peacefully at home in Ottawa ON on 17 December 2004 at the age of 84.

Stu was a WW II veteran who served with the Royal Canadian Engineers, 2^nd Divisional Engineers, 7^th Field Company.  Just a week before the German surrender in the Netherlands his vehicle hit a road mine and both he and his driver were seriously injured.  Both recovered and Stu went on to pursue a successful 25-year career with the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources as a Civil Engineer.

A memorial service will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry Funeral Home, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on 21 December.  ^{{gdJun2016kh}}
