We regret to advise of the sudden death of Lieutenant Lloyd Myers (Ret’d) of Vineland ON at the age of 79 on 28 March 2002.
Lloyd was born in Sussex NB and graduated in Forestry Engineering from the University of New Brunswick in 1939 and became a New Brunswick Land Surveyor. He served in many locations across Canada during the Second World War as a Royal Canadian Engineer officer. After the war, he pursued a career as a Logging Superintendent at the Abitibi Pulp and Paper Company in Pine Falls MB.
After marrying, Lloyd and his young family relocated to Ontario where he enjoyed a successful career as an Ontario Land Surveyor in the Niagara Region. He was later commissioned as a Canada Land Surveyor and surveyed in the Yukon and Northwest Territories. He was a long-time member of the Beamsville Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.
The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 612 will conduct a Funeral Service at the Vineland Chapel of the Tallman Funeral Home. A committal service will be held at Kirk Hill Cemetery in Sussex, on what would have been Lloyd's 80th birthday, on Sunday 5 May 2002, at 1:00 PM.
