We regret to advise of the death of Firefighter Harry Wilfred "Pete" Banks of Smiths Cove, Bear River, NS at the age of 90 on 24 August 2019 at Digby General Hospital .
Pete started his working life in the woods with his father at the age of twelve and was later employed at the stave mill in Bear River. This was followed by a 32-year Public Service career as a Department of National Defence Firefighter at Canadian Forces Base Cornwallis, NS.
There will be no visitation. The funeral service will be held at the Digby Baptist Church at 2:00 pm on Wednesday 28 August 2019. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to either the Digby or Bear River Baptist Churches. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Jayne’s Funeral Home, Digby 902-245-2525.
