Departing Words from LGen Whitecross

Serving and Retired CME Branch Members,

As your Senior Serving Engineer, I want to take the opportunity to thank you all for the tremendous support and professionalism you continue to give to the Canadian Armed Forces as I hang up the uniform after 38+ years of service. I will be retiring on Friday 4 Dec 2020.

These past 38 years have been humbling and inspiring, both professionally and personally. The CME Branch has been at the center of my career from the beginning, back in 1982, when I joined during the “Engineer Get-Well Program”.  I have no regrets and am proud of what we have accomplished.  Between support domestically, while on deployed operations in harsh environments or on humanitarian missions – the Engineers have served with distinction regardless of trade, rank, or experience level.  I couldn’t have chosen a better occupation or been surrounded by better people.  In many ways, the CME Branch has framed me into the person I am today.

For those of you still serving, I wish you continued success in tackling national and global challenges; and for those of you already retired, I thank you for your service.

CHIMO!

Chris Whitecross
